An ex-disciple speaks #6: Public Confessions

Here’s Giles with another instalment. As usual, all opinions express are purely those of the writer.

Everyone who has watched a bit of Emmanuel TV knows about public confessions. They believe that when you confess, you need to do it publically in front of everyone – in the case of Emmanuel TV, the whole world. They say it’s to do with shaming the devil by exposing the things he has done in your life, so you have to confess EVERYTHING, sometimes in detail.

The confessions are all filmed. The videos are stored in their archives. When good disciples go bad and start blabbering away about, say, sexual allegations, these videos come in handy. They quickly find their way onto Emmanuel TV to discredit the “blasphemer”, so the whole world can go Ooooh! Aaaah, she committed fornication, she cant be telling the truth. Blackmail.

This can be seen on Emmanuel TV on their “blasphemer” commercial. An ex-disciple, Bisola is currently being featured because she left and started saying bad things about TB Joshua. Any bit of footage from the past with her face on it got dug up and aired.

“Blasphemers” are the term given to people against SCOAN and TB Joshua. Prominent supporters are known as “friends of the ministry”. I don’t know of any other church that categorises people like this. I guess now I’m a blasphemer.
