Namibia health minister warns people not to visit TB Joshua

Following on the from the Zimbabwe health minister’s warning, Dr Richard Kamwi, the minister of health and social services warned his country that “No Namibians should take the risk of travelling to Ebola-affected countries for religious congregation. Visiting Ebola-hit countries will put us all at risk of getting the infection and spreading the disease to Namibia.” (source)

It’s encouraging to see countries taking the threat of charlatans such as TB Joshua seriously during this crisis. Neither Zimbabwe or Namibia have had a case of Ebola so far. This is in stark contrast to Sierra Leone (the one country supported by TB Joshua), whose problem is only getting worse.

  1. As i always mentioned in any of my comments that prophets should be honored and respected because to me, they are God sent. Prophet T.B Joshua is a God sent. Furthermore, when God sent Noah to preached the worlds of God, people were making mockery of him but at the end, people who believed in his words were saved. Therefore, any ones that have faith in T.B should listening and learn from his preaching. God bless all of us and also God in his merciful will surely safe Namibia from contacting Ebola outbreak

    • “Any ones that have faith in T.B ….” that says it all.
are the people who have faith in TB called TBians?

The people who have faith in Christ are called Christians.

      • Madeleine, i like it. we keep this one; TBians. Scoan-TBians, waiting for God to show-up on TB joshuas time.

    • @ Samuel,

Prophets can only be honoured if they are doing what God wants them to do, not what they themselves want to do with the gift they have received from Him.

Secondly, Prophecy is not for telling fortunes, doom and personal revelation. Prophecy is for change, repentance, remorse, redirection of the points in time that fit in the plan of God concerning Salvation in His Souvereign Will. As His Salvation plan progresses God reveals direction for the people that are His. Who are His’ ? Those that keep their eyes upon Jesus and not on any man/woman or child that makes his or her plans for themselves to carve a name out in society. No prophet in the Bible was running their own church. The church existed out of: And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

TB Joshua does not want us to covet the the best gifts. TB Joshua wants only to operate himself and his appointed “wisemen” into it. He wants us to be needing him, needing SCOAN, needing to be there. If the world needs people to heal, deliver, do miracles, prophesy, why none of the modern day prophets teach us that ? FOR FREE. There are many ministries who do these teachings and training, but always at a price for money, notoriety and self exaltation. Discern !

      • @ Samuel,

The more excellent way is to love, to forgive, to restore, to help. We are failing too much all those four things.

      • Couldn’t agree more! Our own very imperfect vicar prayed for me for healing and I was healed. I didn’t have to go far (just to church) and paid not a penny. Can my vicar heal people? No! But God can use him as a faithful servant.

  3. If they will go there and they true waship God in truth, there is no problem as the Bible says in 1 john who so ever trust unto the lord he is an ovorcomer of thi word so they will overcome this

    • @ Benjamin,

I appreciate your pointing and direction to the Bible, but what I don’t appreciate is that we have arrived in such a state that not only we use faith, but we also use brain and intelligence and we use also Science to extend what God is doing by His Holy Spirit. The revelations of many technological breakthrough and medicine is part of our culture. We must not take one thing and leave the other. I am sure in the olden times mankind used many herb and other growing plants for healing. We are now become developed that we can apply medication, surgery to people who otherwise would die. We thank God for such abilities in mankind. I am not saying that I advocate testing on animals or on humans. But where would we be if we would not allow science to help us to come away from the dark ages or mid-evil times that we were into. Our problems lie more into that we destroy the natural food chains by genetically modify them and change their structures, in this we provide for the masses but we don’t create a more healthier lifestyle. The key to viruses and bacteria is that we have a certain level or cleanliness, discipline in hygiene, not overly so that the body that is exposed to viruses and bacteria that it can make antibodies to survive will operate smoothly.

I disagree when Science want to replace God, and the atheist is bragging about their own abilities, but I am sure God reveals Himself to mankind in Science breakthroughs and progress. That does not mean we still can and must pray, ask God to intervene in our problems in the belief that He will take care of us if we carefully study His Word, apply it, believe in it and use it we are dismayed, attacked, diseased and suffering. I am sure God encourages us to use the breakthroughs in Science for the good of mankind. But surely He will honour Faith in Him and His abilities to heal, deliver and do miracles the more. Rejecting proper applied science for the preservation of mankind and extending their lives is foolishness. We don’t go back to the 17th century and do mid-evil application to our problems.

  4. You love to sound the alarm anytime there is a story threatening TB Joshua’s visitors, but each week I watch Emmanuel TV I always see thousands of them in his church. Seems like your message is not really getting across to well.

      • @ Vooke,

I see several million people bathing at the confluence of the Ganges and Yamuna rivers at Allahabad in India, on the opening day of the Kumbh Mela festival. At least 10 million pilgrims are set to do so by the end of the day. The event, every 12 years, is billed as the biggest gathering on Earth. More than 100 million people are expected to attend the 55-day festival. Hindus believe a festival dip will cleanse sins and help bring salvation. In 2001, more than 40 million people gathered on the main bathing day of the festival, breaking a record for the biggest human gathering. No Christian meeting ever has superseded it. Does this mean the more followers there are going somewhere is the justification of religious proof of legitimacy ? Mr. Paul needs to update his information what happens outside SCOAN and that SCOAN is minute compared to Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism. Not advocating any of them, but facts seem to be hard to chew inside SCOAN when confronted with it. It’s hard to see beyond their own bubble (cult ) they live in.

    • Just because Tb Joshua has many followers does not prove a thing. Many cults and false religions have many followers.

  5. Just wanted to congratulate our Minister of Health for taking that stand. Namibia is a new African democracy and close to 90% of the population are Christians, but it’s also one of the country that is falling prey to the so called ” prophets ” or ” men/women of God’ who sees it as a green pasture to expand their self glorifying ” enterprises”. More Namibians have now become regular visitors to TB Joshua for different reasons, some unchristian, raging from promotion, success in business, to be cured from some ailment and even protection from witchcraft. They spend a fortune on return tickets and come back home to face the bitter reality that their situations wont change and the so called ” anointed water ” is nothing but fake. I am a Namibian and we a are a small population ( 2 million people!). I am urging my Namibian brothers and sisters to have faith in Christ our savior, not in self-proclaimed ” prophets ” who are taking advantage of people’s misery and misleading the world. Christ is the way, not TB Joshua. The Minister is right, we cant take chances and risk our nations health. He took that stand knowing very well what an outbreak of Ebola can do to the Nation of Namibia. He is a Doctor and is very well informed.

  6. Let those people who understand the sevant of God understand him, and those who do not let them do so. No one is been forced to folow TB joshua or forced on his prophecy. Tb joshua is man of God man of faith. And who understand him wilbe served.

    • @ Clever,

Yeah ? Understanding him and you is the key here. Explanation, defending the liar, the lies, the false prophecies, the smart extracting of monies, to deceive the audiences and display themselves as better than those who do not agree. Using powers of dubious origin and changing its format and put it in the mold as if Jesus was ministering ( e.g. interrogating so called “demons” for 30 minutes, which is not happening in elaborate crusades that displays the same frothing and rolling on the floor) there. Telling the world that every one needs deliverance in order to attract them to the Lagos church because people don’t want to take responsibility for the wrong choices and actions they did in life and face it. How is anyone served with that ?

Foolish people will be attracted to that and are looking for an easy hand out and are willing and eager to put up a Nollywood, Hollywood demonstration of their acquired acting skills.

    • @clever
I was once a follower of tbj because of his powers. But I never understood any of his messages and little by little God opened my eyes.
Judah had great power also healing and casting out demons alongside Jesus but he was evil.
Tbj does so much evil like making people beg for healing, he boasts in his prophetic gifts and other powers. Scaring everyone to lay hands on others to heal and deliver. Tbj has a hot temper. And the list can go on and on.
An you honestly say you see Jesus in any of this?

  7. @Jaime
I was reading a previous post of yours that you felt Tb Joshua in your bedroom. I have too, it was very creepy, his presence filled the entire room and I was able to feel it too. He came to me at night while I was in my bed.

Can you please explain what you mean by not interrupting the spirit at scoan?

    • Juillianne, yes, this nightly visits are the specialism of Tb Joshuas Spirit(s). What i mean by dont interrupt the Spirits at scoan, is; dont be afraid of them, dont provoce them, dont open-up to them, dont let your-self become confused by them, stay in Christ.

    • @ Julianne,

Get rid of the incubi or succubi from your bedroom. Start smearing olive oil on all four walls, ceiling and floor of your bedroom and read scriptures like Psalm 91,

Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. James 4:7

For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. 2 Chronicles 16:9

… but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits. Daniel 11:32

This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of hosts. Zechariah 4:6

Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luke 10:19

No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from me, says the Lord. Isaiah 54:17

Through You we will push down our enemies; through Your name we will trample those who rise up against us. For I will not trust in my bow, nor shall my sword save me. But You have saved us from our enemies, and have put to shame those who hated us. In God we boast all day long, and praise Your name forever. Psalm 44:5

Blessed be the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle – my loving kindness and my fortress, my high tower and my deliverer, my shield and the One in whom I take refuge, who subdues my people under me. Psalm 144:1

It is God who arms me with strength, and makes my way perfect. He makes my feet like the feet of deer, and sets me on high places. He teaches my hands to make war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze … I have pursued my enemies and overtaken them; neither did I turn back again till they were destroyed. I have wounded them, so that they were not able to rise; they have fallen under my feet. For You have armed me with strength for the battle; You have subdued under me those who rose up against me. Psalm 18:32,37

The Lord is my strength and my shield Psalm 28:7

He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Isaiah 40:29

I will lift up my eyes to the hills – from whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore. Psalm 121:1

So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him. Isaiah 59:19

  8. @jamie
Is it something that is done in person at scoan or can you do it by watching Emanuel tv?

I noticed that tbj somehow orders the demons during the deliverances not to come out through vomit during the actual deliverance line of the wisemen. They come out through vomit during the healing line and mass deliverance but when the wisemen would take turns during the deliverance line in the afternoons not a single person every threw up. It would slow down the line and the Wiseman would have to wait for clean up. So somehow to avoid this situation tbj controls how they are delivered.

    • @ Julianne,

Sorry but I don’t believe he has control over demons in what way they manifest. The Holy Spirit cannot be directed of what you want Him to do.

What you see is what you see in Haiti and in other places where they do Voodoo, Hoodoo, Voodun or Santeria. Not even to mention that you do not see anything about throwing up demons or puking them out.

Although I am not saying here that demons can come out through the throat, but as God is Breath, Pneuma, they are leave through breathing. Also they can come from your midriff or from the sides of your intestines. When deliverance is taking place and you ask them what happens this is what they describe. And through their esophagus in the form of burping and air pockets shooting out. Sweating and huffing and puffing. But those things you don’t read in the Bible. So one has to ask what actually casting out demons is.

The Greek word Ekballo means I throw, cast, put out, banish, bring forth, produce, by force and might. Casting out demons is not a big thing. Jesus does not even focus much upon it at all. Nor do you see mass deliverance’s in the Bible either.

By the way, screaming a lot from the back of your throat will eventually cause in certain persons to have convulsions and get upset/dizzy and you will start to throw up and cough out the content of your stomach. This is in different forms, from slime to white froth as well part digested contents of your stomach up till blood. A practice that is rampant in SCOAN and especially practiced by the Wise men. Vomiting was practiced a lot by celebrities, for example Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Alice Cooper, Ozzy Osbourne, I suppose they also were vomiting out their inner demons. Lol.

      • I am not an expert in demonology, but I do appreciate the caution to be very careful about what we assume to be “casting out” of demons, given that it was not a focus of Jesus’ work, nor his instructions to us.

I think looking critically at the behaviors seen, and comparatively to other false religions, is really important. The similarities are amazing, and the truth is, many of these things are accomplished purely physically–skilled practitioners have no trouble putting others into a trance, hypnotizing them, and causing them to do certain things. Then you have many of the people involved being raised in these types of churches, with an automatic response to certain cues and the power of peer pressure to respond in the “correct” way. Heightened emotions cause interesting feelings and physical symptoms. Hindu spiritualists can get much the same reactions from their devotees, when they “cast out demons” according to their religion.

Honestly I really think there is a danger in overspiritualizing TBJ’s powers. It attributes power to him that personally I don’t think he has. I think he is very clever, intellectually. And I think he is very intuitive, and has his finger on the pulse of the desperate people who are flocking to him, so that he knows what to present to them and how to present it for maximum effect. But considering that many of his miracles are not, in fact, miracles, and this is obvious to anyone who has a little bit of knowledge and hasn’t turned of their critical thinking skills, I lean much more towards the thought that he is no more than a clever trickster. He’s not doing anything that hasn’t been done before, and isn’t being done by a thousand other tricksters like him. He’s just been exceptionally savvy with the self-promotion.

  9. TB Joshua is in contact with Spirits, and they act independant to his controle. TB has controle over directing his powers. Yes, he can manifacture a deliverance as he wants. Jezus only used The Word in deliverance. TB is not like Jezus yet.

      • eh. Spelling doesn’t matter that much. Jesus’ name is transliterated into every language (Isa, Yeshua, Jesu, etc), and spelled in different ways, including with letters not in the English alphabet. I always assumed Jamie was using a phonetic spelling. Which is not sinful.

There are millions of problems in the church more important than how any particular person spells the name of Jesus.

  10. If you said that, Prophet TB Joshua is not from God Almighty, then tell me who is from God Almighty, I mean the one you knew. And Prophet TB Joshua never asked any body to fellow him, he tell people to fellow Jesus Christ. And he said that, he is not the healer nor Christ, but he is a servant of Christ.

  11. My Father in the Lord tbjoshua,i pray that God strenghting you and all the scoan members in this painfull time.Daddy our God will never leave you alone,,Your daugther jeannette in germany……Lord jesus protecte our daddy ,in jesus name.Amen

  12. Mr Kamwi must 1st do his job in the Ministry of health before starting stopping people from travelling to Nigeria. People are dying in the hospital due to lack of staff, materials and laziness in the Ministry Of Health. Mr Kamwi is easier to see dirty in someone house but please clean your house first. People and children that are dying in Namibia everyday are more than what ebola killing around the world. Christianity is a personal decision one should make. People choose who to listen to and who to visit. I really dn’t understand why people are so angry, jelousy and will do everything in their demon power to stop other to look for solution where they believe someone will listen to them. Namibia is democratic Country where everyone has a right and responsible to freedom of movement.
