TB Joshua, the man who tricked God?
Prophecy – TB Joshua style
Sometimes I wonder if Jesus was walking the land of Jerusalem today if he would be on TV. Would CNN, Al-Jazeera, BBC and the other popular networks broadcast his ministry and miracles live? Would he be like Rev. Benny Hinn, donning a $50,000 Rolex watch or l
ike Prophet T. B. Joshua, with a flashy Nollywood smile and a cool $20 million in the bank? Would the savior of mankind, live in a sprawling 15-bedroom mansion? Would Jesus ride to miracle healing crusades in his own private Jet with all the pomp and showmanship?
I have no doubt millions of eyes would be glued to TV sets as he performed the miracle of feeding 5,000 hungry mouths with only five loaves of bread. Would he prophesy the results of soccer matches and the death of presidents? What would he say about modern prophets like Jesus One Touch? Would he silently ignore them or lash out with the flash of a whip and the sharpness of rebuke?
All humans want to know the unknown, or even the unknowable. We are wired by God to want to know what tomorrow holds. It is probably why we are so fascinated by those who claim to know the future or who claim to possess the gift of prophecy. At the birth of 2013, one of Africa’s popular ‘men of God’, the Nigerian Prophet T. B. Joshua issued his prophecy for the New Year, as usual. My childhood friend, Fiifi, who follows and hangs on to every word the Yoruba miracle worker says, told me about the prophecies. I decided to check them out. Fiifi’s passion was too strong to ignore.
T. B. Joshua prophesied that “many great, famous, rich men and politicians will become helpless and in need of help in matters of sickness, disease, finances and death”. I looked at Fiifi in amazement, as to why he believed this was a prophecy. This is not a prophecy but a generalized statement. There are thousands of famous and great men in the world, so naturally some would get into trouble. Every week some famous person dies or gets into trouble around the world. In the USA alone, for instance, some star or famous person gets into trouble almost every day. If I say there is going to be a storm in the USA that is going to cause destruction this year, it is not a prophecy. It is a simple geographical fact.
Psychics and con artists use these tricks all the time. They tell you there is a man in your family named Mensah trying to harm you spiritually. Of course, they know almost everybody in Ghana has a Mensah in their family or knows one who is close. Do people believe these fake prophets because they desperately want a miracle in their life so badly that a fake miracle is better than no miracle? Well, a fake miracle is no miracle. A fake miracle is like the ostrich solution to problems, it is the alcoholic’s solution to problems. Once you are drunk, the problem disappears. However, the problem reappears when the drunken stupor fades off. This is not a solution, it is denial and lying to oneself.
T. B. Joshua’s other prophecy tickled me blue. He said, “Those in the foodstuff business will have a field day this year. Farming and agriculture will be the order of the day and will help greatly to be the source of solution this year. People engaged in it will be greatly blessed,” Why would anyone consider this a prophecy? Is this over-baked, redundant, recycled financial advice or what? Last year a cargo plane crashed in Accra, the Melcolm building collapsed but Joshua did not see it to warn us. What is the purpose of these ‘prophesies’ if it serves no purpose and helps nobody? Where is the next Tsunami going to be? That’s what we want to know, so we can be ready.
Can Temitope Joshua prophesy the Boston bombing next time before it happens, rather than ‘predicting’ it after it has happened? If he had prophesied the Boston Marathon bombing, his name would be on every major network in the world. Oprah, CNN, NBC,New York Times and all the big networks would be at his door begging for an interview. He did not prophesy the Boston bombing. That is the fact that the whole world knows except the gullible followers of Joshua in Ghana and Nigeria.
People like TB Joshua and their fake miracles thrive in non-questioning, semi-literate societies, where superstition is rife even among the educated. Why would the great omnipotent Jehovah reveal such useless prophecies? These prophecies are definitely not from God. They are from the demented mind of one who seeks fame and money and know how to manipulate a society of gullible zombies.
Joshua did not prophesy the Melcolm building collapsing which would have saved many lives. Neither did he prophesy the crashing of a cargo plane into a bus at Kotoka Airport. When Accra Sports stadium collapsed, he did not see it. Even when President Mills was stricken with cancer and on the verge of death, he did not see it. When a tsunami devastated Japan, Joshua did not see it. God does not show Joshua revelations that would save lives. God only reveals soccer scores, election results and mushed-up general statements that help no one. Attributing these cheap ‘revelations’ to God is blasphemy. Yahweh, the creator of the universe, with billions of stars and galaxies, cannot do better than giving useless financial advice?
Joseph in the Bible interpreted dreams that averted a famine and saved the lives of millions of people. Moses saved many Israelites from the plagues that devastated Pharoah, because his predictions came true and were time specific.
How would such prophesies be received in educated countries like Germany, Canada or Japan? Nobody in any developed, educated world of critically thinking people would see Balogun Joshua’s statement as prophecies. However, among many Africans, these are words from the Almighty Yahweh himself. Joshua is sleek, shrewd and a good stage magician, who can fool millions of gullible, desperate Africans. He has amassed wealth to the tune of $20 million. Needless, to say, he has tricked his way into great wealth. Man can be fooled, but the most sophisticated sakawa, 419 tactics cannot trick God. Just like Obinim, Jesus One Touch, Bishop Eddie Long and all the many false prophets had come crashing down, time would show that Bishop Temitope Balogun Joshua cannot trick God.

But a fortune teller will tell you about a plane crashing over indonesia. TB has never said thus says the Lord. Read the books of the prophets,all statements of prophecy begins with thus says the Lord and that is what makes it a prophecy. TB Joshua church began as a sabbath mission where he wore white gown without shoes .These churches are occultic worshipping evil marine spirits . How then he changed to suits. TB shows us a video of when he was climbing mountain to do fasting for 40 days and 40 nights. He boasts of miracles but the bible tells us the John the baptist didi not do a single miracle. The moment people know that claiming I can do miracles does not make you a man God the better for them But to fulfill the scriptures many will be deceived by agents of Satan like TB Joshua. His name was TB johnson why he changed to Joshua is what we are yet to find out.A prophet is not a man who sees the future. THE NEED TO TEST PROPHETS:

THE NEED TO TEST PROPHECIES:
19. Do not put out the Spirit’s fire;
20. do not treat prophecies with contempt.
21. Test everything. Hold on to the good.
22. Avoid every kind of evil – 1Thes 5:19-22
In this passage the bible commands us to test prophecy. Indeed, it is part of the normal New Testament ministry process – 1 Cor 14:29 NIV.
Two or three prophets should speak and the others should weigh carefully what is said.
How in the world can I test prophets and prophecies without sinning and touching God’s anointeds????
Now in the light of this article let us put “prophet” TB Joshua to the test of Scripture:
A Prophet’s life must comply with these:
1. The Prophets must predict a happening before it happens and his words must come out – Jeremiah 28:9, Deut 13:1-3.
2. A Prophet will be known by the fruit of his live – Mathew 7:15-16.
3. They must confess that Jesus Christ came in flesh as the Lamb of God and the Son of God and is the Messiah. – 1 John 4:2.
Now TB Joshua’s “prophecies”:
1. His cut and paste prophecies are only published after an event and some are totally wrong.
2. Tbj’s fruit of his life are rotten.
3. Tbj claims he is the messiah and his focus on what Jesus did on the cross is very murky indeed.
So he is opposite to the Word of God?
Now in the light of this article let us put “prophet” TB Joshua’s prophecies to the test of Scripture:
Prophecies must comply with these:
1. It must warn you – Acts 20:23
2. It must bring you to repentance in Jesus – Acts 26:19, 13-18
3. It must have a purpose – 1 Corinthians 12:7-11
4. It must be words strengthening,
5. Encouraging and
6. Comforting you – 1 Corinthians 14:3
7. It must be a reality – 1 Samuel 3:1-15, Mathew 17:1-9, Luke 9:31, Luke 24:1-23,Acts 22:6-11, Acts 26:19, Ezek 1, Dan 7:1,9-10, Jes. 6:1-4, Rev 4:2
8. It is all to reconcile you to God.
Now TB Joshua’s “prophecies”:
1. Do they warn anyone before hand, not after the event?
2. Do they lead anyone to repentance in Jesus?
3. Have they got any purpose?
4. Do they strengthen anyone?
5. Do they encourage anyone?
6. Do they comfort anyone?
7. Are they real?
8. Are they reconciling you to God or tbj?
…And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure to the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness to all nations and then shall the end come… – Matthew 24:12-14
You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved – Matthew 10:22

The Gospel is preached BY FAITH and DEMONSTRATION OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD. Not by money. With money you can have a fake pastor running a huge ministry and preach. There are loads of them. For them is applicable
Matthew 7:21-24

By all means pray Lucy, but pray also that matters will be revealed unto you. Especially matters that could be very much not from God. These matters are here investigated and exposed. That is not wicked, that is the right thing to do. Corrupt things need to be uncovered, man made matters, must be exposed, deception must be removed, we are to test, try, sift, all matters concerning our lives.

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises:that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
If we are not a healthy sounding board what clearly is done here with our bibles in our hands and God’s Spirit and His Host of Heaven holding us up for the sake of Absolute Truth to be our Spokesman, then we have nothing else to speak than the Truth and nothing than the Truth, so God may help us and be our Witness in our attempts to establish this. Nothing being said here is wickedness or for attempt of evil, but a deep longing desire in our hearts to live and witness by Absolute Truth flowing from God alone. Carol2, you repeatedly demonstrate a misunderstanding of salvation.
Salvation does not depend on works. It depends on the blood of Jesus alone. Anyone who calls on Jesus to be their advocate before God, trusting in his cleansing blood, will be saved.
It doesn’t matter if they have sinned. We all have. I have. You have. It doesn’t matter if they have questioned a “man of God.” It doesn’t matter if they have been wrong on some doctrinal point. The whole point of the Gospel is that we CANNOT face God on the merit of our own righteousness and works. That is why we need Jesus. And the beauty of that is that the dungheap of sin and unrighteousness in all of us does not keep us out of heaven, because Jesus (not TBJ, not special water) washes us clean and makes us righteous with his righteousnss.
Heaven’s gate is not controlled by TBJ. Questioning him, a mere man, is not the unpardonable sin. Yet you continually imply this. You need to turn of Emmanuel TV and get back to Biblical basics. Such as, what is salvation and to whom to we look for it. Hint: TBJ has nothing to do with the salvation of mankind, or any individual man.
As far as questioning the man being unChristlike, you have been given boatloads of Scripture demonstrating that both Jesus and the Holy Spirit inspired apostles require that those claiming spiritual superiority be tested and held to a very high standard of truthfulness and right living. I hope you will take the time to read those Scriptures carefully.

Jesus called Himself by the titles that God called Himself (Revelation 22:13)

1. Consider Creation Science Evangelism ministry Kent Hovind. They have spread the Gospel over the globe like wild fire, making their material copyright free & translating to many languages. The ministry has never performed a single miracle (you call it demonstration of power) yet many people have come to repentence & accept Jesus Christ through their message.
If I understand you correctly you imply that if the church can demonstrate power (perform miracles) then the church will win more souls (increase), right? What happened to planting the seed of the word & let God give the increase? (1 Corinthians 3:6-7)
